Chengcheng Fei

About

Chengcheng Fei is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University, where her research and teaching program spans climate change economics, water economics, and techno-economic, life-cycle, and benefit-cost analysis (TEA/LCA/BCA) of biotechnology. She develops market and sector models to evaluate the impacts of climate change, policy, and market shocks on agriculture and water, and she evaluates biotechnology innovations for interdisciplinary science and industry teams by estimating product cost, market effects, environmental impacts, and supply-chain consequences. She co-leads a research thrust in the $26 million, eight-university NSF CURB Engineering Research Center, serving as an economic bridge between science and real-world deployment. She teaches graduate courses on mathematical programming and climate change economics, and received the 2025 COALS Dean's Early Career Research award. She earned her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 2019, advised by Bruce A. McCarl.
